ROUND TWO QUALIFYING FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 12!
West Palm Beach, Fl. – Qualifying for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity continues with second-round action Wednesday afternoon, December 12.
All the Futurity entries from round one will compete Wednesday afternoon, and again in round three Saturday afternoon, December 15.
The top 16-point earners from the third round will advance to the Futurity semifinals, Wednesday afternoon, December 19.
The $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity championship final will be contested Wednesday afternoon, December 26.
Featured races include:
Race 10 features first-round winner #4 Amazing Gigi (BD’s Grayson – Amazing Chesney, James Douglas Kennel). Gigi will have the room to break loose early from the pack but, must keep a keen eye on the big first-turn rusher, #7 PJ Soul Survivor (Djays Octane – Blackjack Ignite, Rader Racing Kennel).
No round one victors in Race 12, however one could make a case for most of the entries having a shot at the all-important qualifying win. This looks to be a great event!
We have a double dose of round one winners in Race 14. Rader Racing Kennel’s #2 Me No Care (Coldwater Keelin – Royal Mosaic) will take on longshot victor #7 Pat C Stolz (Rico’s Vintage – Pat C April Oak, Koppe Staats & Collins Kennel). Both pups will have the early racing room to get loose, but there could be some spoilers lurking within the field.
Race 15 will be the most anticipated of all the qualifiers, as Rader Racing Kennel’s super pup #5 Duxbury (Pat C Clement – WW Lonesome Dove) will be going for her fifth-consecutive victory. In her first-round win, Duxbury clocked in on the 545-Yard Royal Palm Course in a blistering 29.37 seconds, not only the fastest qualifying time, but the best for the entire performance. Spoilers to watch, #1 Turbo Tobi (U Too Pure Silk – TB’s Torque, Rader Racing) and #7 Goodluck Oliver (Offthebreakdrake – Goodluck Topaz, D. Q. Williams Kennel).
Post time for the first race Wednesday afternoon is 1:00 p.m. with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.
The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.
