          West Palm Beach, Fl. – Palm Beach Kennel Club’s youngest racers will take to the stage Saturday afternoon, April 27, as the championship finale of the $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes highlights a day of fun and excitement for the entire family.

This year’s field features some of the best early-speed and first-turn rushing athletes on the Palm Beach Kennel Club roster.

But one finalist stands above the rest and will be the post time favorite.

Koppe, Staats & Collins Kennel’s Pat C Sly Cooper wowed racing fans as he swept all four qualifying rounds to enter the $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes undefeated. Not only that, but Saturday afternoon the “Sly” one will be going for his seventh-consecutive victory.

Pat C Sly Cooper’s main competition appears to be the inside early speedster Racy Peg, the well-established Britney Eureton and the Brock Lesner of Greyhound racing, Barts Beast Mode.

The eight Puppy Stakes finalists in post-position order:

  1. Racy Peg (Bella Infrared – Princess Bula, B & B Racing)
  2. Britney Eureton (Barcelona Boss – Miss Prissy, Rader Racing)
  3. Palm City Tyson (Atascocita Gray – Skate Parchy, B & B Racing)
  4. Bigger Cheese (Barcelona Boss – Kiowa Jilll Boom, Rader Racing)
  5. Barts Beast Mode (Deerfield Mover* – GV Tilda, James Douglas)
  6. JD Oxidizer (KC And All – JD Happy Tears, Brindle Kennel)
  7. Pat C Sly Cooper (Pat C Clement – Pat C Deception, Koppe, Staats & Collins)
  8. Superior Candi (Last Outlaw – Superior Cinch, B & B Racing)

The 53rd running of the $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes will be contested in Saturday afternoon’s twelfth race with an approximate post time of 4:00 p.m.

The Puppy Stakes is named in honor of former Palm Beach Post Time sports columnist and great friend to Greyhound racing, Bob Balfe.
