High Racing Speed Warnings have been issued for Palm Beach Kennel Club as we present the 37th running of the prestigious $50,000 He’s My Man Classic, Saturday afternoon, January 28.
#8 Janice Dean, “The Weather Machine” has been installed as the 2-1 morning line favorite, and this may be a little generous.
A quick synopsis of the $50,000 finale shows a huge rush to the first turn with the early-speed finalists #2 Marsha Ambrosius, #3 KB’s Katana, #6 O Ya Sunflower and, perhaps in the best post position to clear the first turn safely, #7 Big Red Dog.
With most these early speedsters racing anywhere from inside to mid-track, Janice Deanwill absolutely have a clear and safe path to the first turn and then the backstretch. But, she must have a crisp break out of the starting box and avoid any possible traffic issues on the Paddock Restaurant turn.
There is the possibility that Janice Deancould have the lead entering the backstretch. If that scenario plays out, we will know the winner ten seconds into the championship finale.
Most likely, she will use her closing ability and pass whoever is on the lead.
But, this is Greyhound racing at its best and fastest. Another possible reality is a traffic jam at the first turn. This would put the Classic finalists with strong closing abilities, #1 Hot Prospect Gal, #4 Barts Big Bang and his brother #5 Bartsrocktheboat, into championship contention.
As you can see, multiple possibilities for this exciting finale!
