PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 26!
WIDE OPEN FIELD! WHO WILL TAKE HOME THE GOLD?
West Palm Beach, FL – Palm Beach Kennel Club proudly presents the twenty-first running of the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity Wednesday afternoon, December 26.
This year’s running is truly up for grabs!
The likely post time favorite appears to be the leading point earner in qualifying, Duxbury.
The way the finale is set up is truly unique. The early speed finalists have all drawn the inside posts. The big question is, who will be the early leader as the finalists enter the backstretch. As far as post position goes, Me No Care will be breaking from the advantageous one box. But to his immediate right are three other big-time pups that explode out of the starting box at the break, Amazing Gigi, XKT Stubby and Jackrabbit Slim.
Breaking from the outside posts are the championships four strongest first-turn rushers and closers including, Barts These Eyes, Duxbury, Magnus Marvel and PJ Soul Survivor.
A handicapping conundrum indeed!
The 2018 $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity finalists in post-position order:

- Amazing Gigi (BD’s Grayson – Amazing Chesney, James Douglas)
- XKT Stubby (KC And All – XKT Shelly Turin, Koppe, Staats & Collins)
- Jackrabbit Slim (Gable Sour Cream – Mavericks Penny, Rader Racing)
- Barts These Eyes (Barcelona Boss – B’s That’s My Jam, James Douglas)
- Duxbury (Pat C Clement – WW Lonesome Dove, Rader Racing)
- Magnus Marvel (Golden Squire – Magdalena, D. Q. Williams)
- PJ Soul Survivor (Djays Octane – Blackjack Ignite, Rader Racing)
The $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity finale will be contested in Wednesday afternoon’s twelfth race with an approximate post time of 4:00 p.m.
The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.
The running of the Dick Andrews Futurity also has a historic legacy for the Kennel Club.
It was thirteen years ago, December 26, 2005, that the Palm Beach Kennel Club set its’ record for the largest handle of an afternoon racing performance of $822,366.
