JANIE CARROLL KENNEL’S ABBI’S FRONTMAN VICTORIOUS IN PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S
$100,000 LEGACY GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP!
West Palm Beach, Fl. – In one of the most thrilling finishes in Palm Beach Kennel Club Greyhound racing history, it was Janie Carroll Kennel’s Abbi’s Frontman holding off a late challenge at the wire to win the largest in-house stakes race in our track’s history, the $100,000 Legacy Grand Championship.
At the break, it was D. Q. Williams Kennel’s Jax Blow Pop breaking to the inside leaving an opening for the fleet-pawed Abbi’s Frontman to take the early advantage in the rush to the first turn.
As the finalists reached the first turn, trouble ensued as D. Q. Williams Kennel’s Thrill U brushed the rail and collided with the race favorite, Lester Raines Kennel’s Bug Brush, denying them both a chance at the championship.
As the other finalists cleared the first turn and entered the backstretch, it was Abbi in control by three lengths, followed by Rader Racing Kennel’s Opal Long, Jax Blow Pop and a squeezed back Superior Piper.
Entering the final turn, it was apparent that the championship trophy would be awarded to either Abbi’s Frontman or the quickly closing Opal Long.
As the two athletes straightened out down the homestretch it was Abbi ahead of Opal by three lengths. As the amount of track lessened in the sprint to the finish line, Opal was coming on like gangbusters. In the final strides to the finish line, it was Abbi’s Frontman holding off Opal Lone by one-half of a length.
B & B Racing Kennel’s Superior Piper put in a superior effort to finish third while Jax Blow Pop finished fourth.

1st – Abbi’s Frontman (Superior Panama – ABS Almighty, Janie Carroll)
2nd – Opal Long (Pat C Clement – Winta Garoppolo, Rader Racing)
3rd – Superior Piper (Pat C Clement – Superior Cinch, B & B Racing)
4th – Jax Blow Pop (Stealintheshow – Jax Pop The Tab, D. Q. Williams)
5th – B’s Americano (SH Avatar – Oaks Mocha, Janie Carroll)
6th – Old Town Road (Superior Panama – Awesome Fling, Janie Carroll)
7th – Bug Brush (SH Avatar – Flying Lipstick, Lester Raines)
8th– Thrill U (Need My Moneynow – Miss Kate, D. Q. Williams)
Abbi’s Frontman returned a nice $7.00 to his many voracious supporters and clocked in on the 545-Yard Royal Palm Course in a speedy 29.56 seconds.
He received the largest win purse for a Palm Beach Kennel Club in-house stakes event, a stunning $50,000!
