SANTA WAS A DAY LATE!
BAD BEAT JACKPOT HIT AT PBKC!
Jackpot of $160,579 Won!
“Losing” Hand Player Collects $80,289!
West Palm Beach, FL – Christmas came a day late to table 6 in the Poker Room at PBKC Sunday afternoon, December 26, 2021. Eight excited players took home a piece of the $160,579 Bad Beat jackpot with the lucky “losing” poker hand paying off a very Merry $80,289!
PBKC’s rules state that if a player who has at least four 10’s loses, to a better hand, that loser gets half the Bad Beat jackpot. The winner of the hand gets 25 percent, and those sitting at the table split the remaining 25 percent. The “losing” hand received $80,289; the actual winning hand collected $40,144 and the other six players at the table each took home a full stocking worth $6,691 just for playing at the winning table.
Sandy Zompa dealt the hands at the $1/$2 table, a poker game where each player holds two cards of their own and share five community cards. The “loser” of the hand, Dan Franti from West Palm Beach, held Quad Queens, while the “winner” Robert Bates, also from West Palm Beach, held Quad Aces!
The Bad Beat Jackpot has been growing since it was last hit on October 5, 2021, when the jackpot reached $460,789. It was the second largest jackpot in PBKC history with the “loser” winning $290,393 and the actual winning hand paying off $290,393. In a Christmas miracle, Sunday’s game was played again at table number six!
PBKC’s Poker Room is home of the record-setting south Florida Bad Beat Jackpot of $504,833 (paid out 9/23/12).
