PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB PRESENTS ROUND ONE QUALIFYING FOR THE $50,000 HE’S MY MAN CLASSIC,

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 11!

West Palm Beach, Fl. – In an unprecedented event, a record-setting 72 world-class Greyhounds have been entered to compete in round one qualifying action for the $50,000 He’s My Man Classic, Wednesday afternoon, January 11, at Palm Beach Kennel Club.

The same 72 Greyhounds will return to compete in round two, Saturday afternoon, January 14.

Following the second round, a whopping 40 entries will be return to their respective Grade class, with only the top 32 remaining for the third round, being contested Wednesday afternoon, January 18.

The top 16 point earners from the third round will move on the semifinals on Sunday afternoon, January 22.

The final eight will comprise the field for the $50,000 He’s My Man Classic which will be run Saturday afternoon, January 28.

Qualifying races will be contested in races 2,4 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 15.

A very small sampling of the 72 entrants include:

Race 2: Fans should flock to support the always impressive #1 Blu Too Tarmac (SH Avatar – Go Shaunee, Royal Racing Team).

Race 8: Big fan-favorite #6 “Clifford” Big Red Dog (Rhythmless – KB’s La Bella, Rader Racing) will most likely go off as the post time favorite.

Race 9: All eyes will be on last month’s $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity champion, #1 Allaboutthefame (KC And All – Abilene Abby, Janie Carroll Kennel).

Race 10: Going for his fifth-consecutive victory #6 Dutch Jasper (Flying Coal City – Karen Adams, Lester Raines).

Race 12: The defending $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational champion and going for his fourth-consecutive victory, #3 Superior Tyson (Dragon Fire – Superior Date, B & B Racing).

Race 14: An early favorite for the championship finale, #8 Barts Big Bang (Pat C Clement – Barts Magpie, James Douglas) will attempt to show his theory of breaking from the outside post is a winning one.

Race 15: The final qualifier of the afternoon features a keen match-up between fan favorites #2 CBJ Tootsie Roll (Gable Sour Cream – CBJ Choc O Lat, Royal Racing Team) and the duel-distance racing star #7 Janice “The Weather Machine” Dean (Rhythmless – Audra Barkley, Brindle Kennel).

With 72 $50,000 He’s My Man Classic entrants, it is so very important that each be on top of their game for the first two rounds before the huge 40-Greyhound cut. The slightest stumble, bump or misstep could take even the best contender out of the competition early.

The $50,000 He’s My Man Classic is the first event in Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $150,000 “Big 3″ Stakes series, which includes the $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby (Saturday afternoon, February 25) and the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational (Saturday afternoon, March 18).

The Classic is named for Palm Beach Kennel Club racing legend and the track’s first multimedia sensation He’s My Man and dedicated to the man who raised and trained “Roscoe”, Bill Pappas.
