FIELD NAMED FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $50,000 ARTHUR J. ROONEY, SR. PATRICK’S INVITATIONAL!

IT WILL BE A HISTORIC DAY OF GREYHOUND RACING, SATURDAY AFTERNOON, MARCH 16!

West Palm Beach, Fl. – Palm Beach Kennel Club has named the eight Greyhounds who will be competing Saturday afternoon, March 16, in the 43rd running of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational.

The Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational has gone through several machinations since its inception in 1976.

It started off as a match race between the kennel club and finalists of Hollywood Greyhound Track’s World Classic, and then a match race between Orange Park Kennel Club before becoming strictly a hometown event.

And what a line-up of superstars galore for this year’s much-anticipated running.

We offer for your approval stake champions Elizabeth Banks ($50,000 James W. Paul Derby, James Douglas Kennel) and Duxbury ($50,000 He’s My Man Classic and 2018 Dick Andrews Futurity), Rader Racing Kennel). Also gracing the field is Koppe, Staats & Collins Kennel’s JT’s In The Bank, who was a finalist in last years $50,000 He’s My Man Classic and $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes. “Banker” will also be going for his seventh-consecutive victory.

And this year’s running of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational will also be a test between the veterans and our up-and-coming youngsters.

Leading the veteran brigade, and making a rare afternoon racing appearance, is Arthur Agganis Kennel’s consistent racer Draft King. At 3 years and six months of age, this ageless wonder is by far the most experienced St. Pat’s Invitational entry, having more than eighty career races under his blanket. (JT’s In The Bank also fits this category, with more than 80 Palm Beach starts, yet being eight-months younger).

Also competing in the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational is a fine group of young up-and-coming youngsters, including James Douglas Kennel’s Barts Iron Bank, who has won six of his thirteen Palm Beach Kennel Club starts, Lester Raines Kennel’s Dutch Dillinger, who has finished in the trifecta his last eleven races – all in the top Grade A – D. Q Williams Kennel’s second Invitational entry Gettin The Money, a recent winner of seven-straight races and last, but not least, Brindle Kennel’s Jim Bowie, a consistent pup who has finished on the pay sheet in ten of his eleven Palm Beach events.

The 2019 running of the Invitational will certainly go down in the history books as being one of the most competitive ever!

Irish eyes will be smiling on one these elite eight athletes Saturday afternoon, listed in alphabetical order:
