PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL, TUESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 26!
WILL GRAND AZUL SWEEP HIS WAY TO FUTURITY GOLD?
West Palm Beach, FL – Palm Beach Kennel Club proudly presents the twentieth running of the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity Tuesday afternoon, December 26.
One of the post time Futurity favorite is likely to be the only Greyhound out of an original field of 48 to go undefeated through four qualifying rounds, Rader Racing Kennel’s Grand Azul.
However, this talented youngster may have his paws more than full with this outstanding final field of youngsters.
First, there is no doubt that Grand Azul will have to come from off the pace to win the Futurity championship.
This super pup will have to contend with the early-speed and strong rushing abilities of JSK Lubbock, three-round winner JT’s Blindnspeed, TWPA Hope, BF Par Slim and Rail Defender.
Not to mention, possibly in the best post position of all the finalists, breaking from the favorable eight post, Eyesappealing.
And as in a lot of stake finales, especially with all the talent that could be close to first turn, there is a good chance of some traffic issues. That’s when the attention swings to the best closer in the race, Top Notch.
The $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity finalists in post-position order:

- TWPA Hope (Loxahatchee Dash – Takebackyourmink, Rader Racing)
- BF Par Slim (Super Lee – BF Flying Grace, Royal Racing Team)
- Rail Defender (Stealintheshow – Shot At The Nite, Janie Carroll)
- Eyesappealing (Barcia Bale – Goldilocks, Lester Raines Kennel)
The $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity finale will be contested in Tuesday afternoon’s twelfth race with an approximate post time of 4:00 p.m.
The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.
The running of the Dick Andrews Futurity also has a historic legacy for the Kennel Club.
It was twelve years ago, on December 26, 2005, that the Palm Beach Kennel Club set its’ record for the largest handle of an afternoon racing performance of $822,366.
