DRINKS ALL AROUNND AS IMARK TEQUILA WINS PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 GALLAGHER / KINNAIRD PUPPY STAKES!
West Palm Beach, Fl. – After a five-day delay due to Hurricane Dorian, B & B Kennel’s Imark Tequila didn’t mind the extra rest as he went on to win the twenty-second running of Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Gallagher/Kinnaird Puppy Stakes.
As the starting box opened for the finale, it was Flight Tracker and Donta Ripper breaking on top with the former going to the inside causing a bit of a traffic jam.
In the meantime, the perfectly-posted leading point earner in qualifying Imark Tequila had plenty of room to rush the first turn and barely cleared the first-turn congestion to take the lead entering the backstretch. And as the saying goes, that’s all she wrote!
The battle now was for the other three top paying spots.
Chasing Imark Tequila on the backside was Grean Street, Rafe Up Theriver and Donta Ripper. Entering the final turn, it was still Grean Street a clear second, with Up Theriver and Ripper and B’s Breva making a move. But bad racing luck intervened and River and Breva got tripped up allowing Donta Ripper and Dirty Tricks to take late advantages.
In the homestretch, it was Imark Tequila in full command, with a quick closing Donta Ripper nipping Grean Street at the wire for second place.
Imark Tequila turned in a 545-Yard Royal Palm Course clocking of 29.90 seconds, winning by two lengths and returning a respectable $8.80 to his very happy supporters.
Donta Ripper, Grean Street and Dirty Tricks finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
Imark Tequila collected a cool $10,000 for his outstanding victory.
This is B & B Racing Kennel’s first summer Puppy Stakes win since its inception in 1998.

4th – 1. Dirty Tricks (Flying Coal City – Kebo Cutler, Rader Racing)
5th – 2. Rafe Up Theriver (CTW Pipe Down – Lonely Heart, D. Q. Williams)
6th – 7. B’s Breva (SH Avatar – Oaks Mocha, Janie Carroll)
7th – 6. Flight Tracker (Lonesome Cry – Fraulein Morgan, Janie Carroll)
8th – 3. Midget Wrestling (Flying Coal City – Juke Box Hero, Rader Racing)
The Gallagher/Kinnaird Puppy Stakes is named in memory of two Palm Beach County legendary sportscasters, and great friends of the Palm Beach Kennel Club, Jim Gallagher and Buck Kinnaird.
