PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB PRESENTS ROUND ONE QUALIFYING FOR THE HISTORIC $50,000 HE’S MY MAN CLASSIC, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 2!

56 GREYHOUNDS TO COMPETE IN SEVEN BIG QUALIFYING RACES!

West Palm Beach, Fl. – Round one qualifying action for what should be a historic $50,000 He’s My Man Classic gets underway Wednesday afternoon, January 2, at Palm Beach Kennel Club.

The same 56 Greyhounds will return to compete in round two, Saturday afternoon, January 5.

Following the second round, two dozen entries will be return to their respective Grade class, with only the top 32 remaining for the third round being contested Wednesday afternoon, January 9.

The top 16-point earners from the third round will move on to the semifinals on Sunday afternoon, January 13.

The final eight will comprise the field for the $50,000 He’s My Man Classic which will be run Saturday afternoon, January 19.

Qualifying will be contested in races 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 15.

Some fan favorites for the first round of qualifying include:

Races 4 & 6: These qualifiers are tough ones to handicap. You have some of the best early-speed athletes going against some of the best closers at the track. Could produce some big surprises!

Race 8: Again, this event highlights the best of early speed in the sleek and beautiful forms of #4 Outta Style (Dragon Fire – Rain Over Me, James Douglas) and #7 Glorious Wings (Who Says I Can’t – Winning Terra, D. Q. Williams) facing off against some of the track’s most powerful finishers, including the best of the best, the monstrous #6 Barts Josie (Barcelona Boss – Bartssheswaycool, James Douglas). Of course, you can’t forget the winner of the 2018 $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes, super fan favorite #3 Flat Chat Cuppa (KC And All – Kiowa Jill Vik, Janie Carroll).

Race 10: This qualifier features the early-speed styling of #4 MW’s T Rex (Aerial Battle – MW Neptunia, D. Q. Williams Kennel). It appears this Jurassic competitor will be playing catch me if you can. A few of the Classic entries in this event have the talent to do just that, but Rex may be just too far ahead.

Race 12: This event is very competitive indeed. You have the runner-up in the 2018 $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity, #4 Magnus Marvel (Golden Squire – Magdalena, D. Q. Williams) squaring off once again with his fellow Futurity co-finalist, the well-positioned #1 Jackrabbit Slim (Gable Sour Cream – Mavericks Penny, Rader Racing Kennel). Another Greyhound to keep an eye on is the impressive #5 JT’s In The Bank (Pat C Sabbath –  Julianne Hough, Koppe, Staats & Collins Kennel) who his racing his career best.

Race 14: The most likely post time favorite should be the super-early speed demon, #4 Amanda Bynes (TMC’s Remedy – Lorna’s Cannon, D. Q. Williams). Amanda should snag the early lead in this one, but once again will be facing off against the late speed threat of #1 O Ya Barcelona (Barcelona Boss – O Ya Minnie, Janie Carroll Kennel), who just missed defeating Amanda in their last outing.

Race 15: All eyes will be on the recently crowned $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity champion, #5 Duxbury (Pat C Clement – WW Lonesome Dove, Rader Racing). She will be facing off against two of her fellow Futurity finalists, super-early speedster #4 XKT Stubby (KC And All – XKT Shelly Turin, Koppe, Staats & Collins) and the impressive closer, #7 Barts These Eyes (Barcelona Boss – B’s That’s My Jam, James Douglas Kennel). This should be a very telling race.

The $50,000 He’s My Man Classic is the first event in Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $150,000 “Big 3″ Stakes series, which includes the $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby (Saturday afternoon, February 23) and the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational (Saturday afternoon, March 16).

The Classic is named for Palm Beach Kennel Club racing legend and the track’s first multimedia sensation He’s My Man and dedicated to the man who raised and trained “Roscoe”, Bill Pappas.
