Round 2 Qualifying $20,000 Gallagher/Kinnaird Puppy Stakes Saturday Afternoon, August 17!

ROUND TWO QUALIFYING FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 GALLAGHER / KINNAIRD LABOR DAY PUPPY STAKES, SATURDAY AFTERNOON, AUGUST 17!

            West Palm Beach, Fl. – Qualifying for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Gallagher / Kinnaird Puppy Stakes continues with second-round action Saturday afternoon, August 17.

All the Greyhounds from round two will advance to round three, which will be contested Wednesday afternoon, August 21.

The top 16-point earners following the third round will advance to the Puppy Stakes semifinals, slated for Monday afternoon, August 26.

The $20,000 Gallagher / Kinnaird Puppy Stakes championship final will be contested Monday afternoon, September 2, Labor Day.

Some interesting puppy stake qualifying match-ups include:

In Race 8, round-one victor and paying off an unbelievable $117.00-win price, #3 Ashado (Trent Lee – Notorious, Ryan Racing Kennel) will be facing off against two strong pups in good post positions, #1 Grean Street (Flying Coal City – Kebo Cutler, Rader Racing) and the super-early speedster #5 Bartschumpchange (KC And All – Bartssheswaycool, James Douglas).

No first-round winners in Race 10 but keep an eye on a most-impressive puppy stakes entry, #1 B’s Breva (SH Avatar – Oaks Mocha, Janie Carroll).

Race 12 highlights two first-round winners, #2 Rafe Up Theriver (CTW Pipe Down – Lonely Heart, D. Q Williams) and the well-positioned #8 Imark Tequila (Barcelona Boss – Magic Droid, B & B Racing). Both may face some early heat from the strong first-turn rusher #5 Midget Wrestling (Flying Coal City – Juke Box Hero, Rader Racing).

The final qualifier of the afternoon in Race 15 features one of the pre-championship favorite to win it all, Rader Racing Kennel’s #1 Stay Awhile (Flying Coal City – Juke Box Hero). As with last Wednesday afternoon’s qualifying, a good Greyhound to key him with is the impressive round-one victor #7 Flight Tracker (Lonesome Cry – Fraulein Morgan, Janie Carroll).

A qualifier will also be held in race 14.

Post time for the first race Saturday afternoon is 1:00 p.m. with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.

In addition, Palm Beach Kennel Club will be offering a $10,000 guaranteed Pick 4.

Formerly known as the Labor Day Puppy Stakes, this marks the eleventh year of its’ new moniker, named in memory of two Palm Beach County legendary sportscasters, and great friends of Palm Beach Kennel Club, Jim Gallagher and Buck Kinnaird.
