And if the first round was anything like round one, expect the fur to fly!

The same Greyhounds who competed in the first round of qualifying last Wednesday afternoon will return for the second round, facing different Classic entries and all striving to be among the top 32-point earners.

The above mentioned 32 will go on to compete in round three on Wednesday afternoon, January 15, with the top 16-point earners moving on to the Classic semifinals on Sunday afternoon, January 19.

Race 8: This event features two round-one winners, #2 Abington (Gable Sour Cream – Ranger Trent, D. Q. Williams) and #6 Mister Red Rader (Flying Titanium – Rip N Runnin, B & B Racing). Going head-to head, the Red Rader looks to be the pacesetter, however Abington has been known to come from off the pace to score the win. In a race filled with early speed, one must keep an eye on the best finisher, #5 Lonesome Jones (CTW Base Camp – Blazin Booty, Rader Racing).

Race 10: Two more first-round victors will face off as #2 Arkans Vega (Atascocita Gray – Asteria Drive (Royal Racing Team) meets #5 Pat C Dewdrop (Kiowa Myth – Pat C Whereby, Koppe, Staats & Collins). Possible spoilers include the early speedster #1 SNL Summer Fling (Pat C Clement – Fandango Flame, Lester Raines) and #7 JS Mane Event (KC And All – TY Kay Event, Rader Racing).

Starting off with first-round winner, the fast-closing #1 Arkansbdchikhiks (Golden Squire – Arkans BD Cheeks, Royal Racing Team), the early speeder #2 Oshkosh Noisy (Oshkosh Lamont – Oshkosh Vani, James Douglas) and a finalist in last month’s running of the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity, #8 RF Oka (Chasmo’s Dutch – Superior Megryan, B & B Racing).

Race 14: Two He’s My Man Classic entries look to garner much of the win pools, the second-place finisher in round one #7 Shine N Shut Up (Need My Moneynow – Diamond Tears, D. Q. Williams) and first-round victor, the impressive youngster #8 Sarahdipedy (Superior Panama – Joy Giovanni, Rader Racing). Both are in great post positions and this one looks to be a classic match up!

Race 15: The probable post-time favorite appears to be round-one winner #7 Getting The Money (Offthebrakedrake – Goodluck Topaz, D. Q. Williams). Possible roadblocks in his way to repeat include the strong first-turn rushers #4 Waubun Kianna (Trent Lee – Waubun Ole Lady, B & B Racing) and #6 Flying Artistry (Barcelona Boss – Fly Sarah Palin, Rader Racing) along with the early speedster #8 Barts Mandy More (KC And All – Barts Midniterun, James Douglas).
