West Palm Beach, Fl. – Semifinal action for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $50,000 He’s My Man Classic takes place Sunday afternoon, January 13.
Two semifinal races will be contested, with the top eight-point scorers earning their way into the championship final slated for Saturday afternoon, January 19.
Following 18 qualifying races, the sweet sixteen in point earnings will go muzzle-to-muzzle to determine which eight of these superstars will be going for the 2019 championship and the $25,000 first-place prize.
After three rounds of qualifying its Rader Racing Kennel’s Duxbury leads the semifinalists with a perfect 45 points, going undefeated through the first three qualifying rounds.
Semifinal Race 12 is chockful of some of best early-speed Greyhounds at Palm Beach Kennel Club. Once again, it will come down to post position. Who will have the early room to use their box-breaking lightning speed. At first blush, the semifinalists who fit this bill are #1 Open Throttle, #7 Amanda Bynes and #8 Flat Chat Cuppa.
The fan-favorite in Sunday afternoon’s final semifinal event in Race 15 will be #8 Duxbury. Not only has this 22-month old pup won her three qualifying rounds, but last month was crowned the 2018 $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity champion. Duxbury also set a new Futurity stake record with a 545-yard Royal Palm Course clocking of 29.35 seconds. Her main competition will come from the tremendous rusher, #2 Magnus Marvel and the blazing early speedster, #4 MW’s T Rex. This lovely big 70-pound girl will be going for her sixth-consecutive victory.

The $50,000 He’s My Man Classic is the first event in Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $150,000 “Big 3″ Stakes series, which includes the $50,000 James W. Paul 3/8ths Mile Derby (Saturday afternoon, February 23) and the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational (Saturday afternoon, March 16).
The Classic is named for Palm Beach Kennel Club racing legend and the track’s first multimedia sensation He’s My Man and dedicated to the man who raised and trained “Roscoe”, Bill Pappas.
