PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL,

THURSDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 26!

CAN RF OKA CAP OFF HER UNDEFEATED QUALIFYING ROUND SWEEP AND WIN IT ALL!

West Palm Beach, FL – Palm Beach Kennel Club proudly presents the twenty-second running of the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity Thursday afternoon, December 26.

This year’s running could be historic!

The likely post time favorite will be the undefeated qualifier #4 RF Oka. She will be going for her fifth-consecutive victory and holds victories over five of her fellow finalists, sans #5 Atascocita Jarta and #7 Skiddy Hotrod.

Threats to RF Oka sweeping the $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity include the very well-positioned #1 Skiddy Hack and #8 Dennis Moment.

Two other finalists who ran well in qualifying, #2 Buyusumnewshoes and #6 August Dawn, will have to call upon their strong first-turn rushing abilities. If either can garner the lead at the first turn, it will be impossible to catch them.

That leaves us with our three Futurity longshots, #3 GV On A Quest, #5 Atascocita Jarta and #7 Skiddy Hotrod. Although each has proven their merit by making it to the Futurity finale, they did not draw the best of post positions. A little first-turn traffic jam would help these finalists immensely.

The 2019 $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity finalists in post-position order:

  1. Skiddy Hack (Dutch Magic – Skiddy Flicker, Lester Raines)
  2. Buyusumnewshoes (Superior Panama – Joy Giovanni, Rader Racing)
  3. GV On A Quest (KC And All – GV Jewel Quest, James Douglas)
  4. RF Oka (Chasmo’s Dutch – Superior Megryan, B & B Racing)
  5. Atascocita Jarta (Gigawatt – Atascocita Deja, Suncoast)
  6. August Dawn (Kinda Cruel Red – SG’s Phil Niekro, Rader Racing)
  7. Skiddy Hotrod (Dutch Magic – Skiddy Flicker, Lester Raines)
  8. Dennis Moment (Kinda Cruel Red – SG’s Phil Niekro, Rader Racing)

The $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity finale will be contested in Thursday afternoon’s twelfth race with an approximate post time of 4:00 p.m.

The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.

The running of the Dick Andrews Futurity also has a historic legacy for the Kennel Club.

It was fourteen years ago, December 26, 2005, that the Palm Beach Kennel Club set its’ record for the largest handle of an afternoon racing performance of $822,366.
