FIELD NAMED FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $50,000 ARTHUR J. ROONEY, SR. PATRICK’S INVITATIONAL!

IT WILL BE A HISTORIC DAY OF GREYHOUND RACING, SATURDAY AFTERNOON, MARCH 17!

BE SURE TO WEAR THE GREEN!

West Palm Beach, Fl. – Palm Beach Kennel Club has named the eight Greyhounds who will be competing Saturday afternoon, March 17, in the 42nd running of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational.

The Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational has gone through several machinations since its inception in 1976.

It started off as a match race between the kennel club and finalists of Hollywood Greyhound Track’s World Classic, and then a match race between Orange Park Kennel Club before becoming strictly a hometown event.

And what a line-up of superstars galore for this year’s much-anticipated running.

We offer for your approval stake champions Barts Big Bang ($50,000 James W. Paul Derby, James Douglas Kennel), Top Notch ($50,000 He’s My Man Classic, Rader Racing Kennel) and Eyesappealing ($20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity, Lester Raines Kennel). It should be noted that Barts Big Bang will be competing in his second-consecutive Invitational.

And this year’s running of the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational will also be a test between the veterans and our up-and-coming youngsters.

Leading the veteran brigade is Janie Carroll Kennel’s sweetheart O Ya Baby Blue. Baby Blue has raced consistently in the top grades and has gone around the Palm Beach oval a total of 132 times. She was the runner-up in last January’s $50,000 He’s My Man Classic.

Also competing in the veteran camp is last month’s victor in the $50,000 James W. Paul Derby, Barts Big Bang, who has competed at Palm Beach in 87 events. It should be noted that “Stu” possesses the fastest clocking on the 545-Yard Royal Palm Course this season, a stunning time of 29.04 seconds.

Also competing in the $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational will be Big Bang’s younger kennel mate, Barts Putonashow. And what a show Bart has put on. This relative newcomer has only 16 events under his blanket and has finished in the top two in 12 of those competitions.

And then we have our quartet of fabulous first-turn rushers in the sleek forms of Eyesappealing (Lester Raines Kennel), Feeling A Breeze (Arthur Agganis Kennel), stakes finalist JT’s Blindnspeed (Koppe, Staats & Collins Kennel) and of course, the recent winner of sixteen-consecutive races and 2017 All-American the amazing Tip Top (Rader Racing Kennel)

Winding up the elite eight $50,000 Arthur J. Rooney, Sr. St. Patrick’s Invitational entries is one of the strongest race finishers in the country, your $50,000 He’s My Man Classic champion, and brother to Tip Top, Top Notch.

The 2018 running of the Invitational will certainly go down in the history books as being one of the most competitive ever

Irish eyes will be smiling on one these elite eight athletes Saturday afternoon, listed in alphabetical order:
