PBPC Event #3 Day 1 Was a Rousing Success Led By a Hometown Favorite.

Event #3 of the Palm Beach Poker Classic got off to a great start on Friday! “We expected to see a big crowd, but we had no idea we’d already meet the 50k guarantee in the first flight,” said Noah Carbone, the Poker Room Director. By the end of the night, 377 players had taken part. We’re already well passed the guarantee, and we have 2 flights left today at Noon and 5pm.

The top 45 are moving on to Sunday’s Day 2 led by hometown favorite, and regular PBKC tournament player, Jewel “Joe” Goodman. Joe has 517k chips, Shamin Patel has 428k, Maurice Hawkins is next with 407k, Steve Rockswell has 375k, and rounding out the top 5 is Janet Fitzgerald with 374k.

Also, a big congratulations goes out to Donnie Shepherd from Williamsburg, Indiana who won Event #4 Friday night.

The PBPC isn’t the only big thing on Saturday! In the first floor Poker Room we have Huge Spring Break High Hands and the Bad Beat Jackpot is over 250k!

Saturday night is also the Grand Finale of the Mutt Derby! We’ve had 4 qualifying rounds and tonight the fastest pooches in Palm Beach County compete for Cash prizes.
