Jackpot of $166,300 Won!
“Losing” Hand Player Collects $83,150
West Palm Beach, FL – Table 6 in the Poker Room at PBKC was the place to be Tuesday morning, December 27, 2022, as seven excited players took home a piece of the $166,300 Bad Beat jackpot, with the lucky “losing” poker hand paying off a hefty $83,150.
Sandy Zompa was the dealer for the $1-2 game at 10:10am in the morning when the Bad Beat was hit. Phillip Scimone of Wellington, FL was dealt QQQQK and Frank Sears a Royal Flush of Clubs. The “loser” Scimone won $83,150, Sears picked up $41,575 and the other five players each took home $8,315 just for playing at the right place at the right time.
PBKC rules state that if a player who has at least four 10s loses, to a better hand, that loser gets half the Bad Beat jackpot. The winner of the hand gets 25 percent, and those sitting at the table split the remaining 25 percent. The “losing” hand player received $83,150; the actual winning hand collected $41,575 and the other five players won $8,315.
AN AMAZING8 fact is that the bad beat was hit almost exactly a year ago on Dec. 26, 2021, at the same table with the same dealer for $160,579.
PBKC’s Poker Room is home of a record-setting south Florida Bad Beat Jackpot of $504,833 (paid out 9/23/12).
