Pat C Sly Cooper Victorious in $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes!

PAT C SLY COOPER ROMPS TO HISTORIC WIN IN PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S

$20,000 BOB BALFE PUPPY STAKES CHAMPIONSHIP!

West Palm Beach, Fl. – Koppe, Staats & Collin’s Pat C Sly Cooper put on a smoke show for racing fans as he scored a stunning victory in the 54th running of Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes, Saturday afternoon, April 27.

A lot was on the line for Pat C Sly Cooper. Out of an original field of 64 hopefuls, he was the only undefeated qualifying finalist. In addition, the Sly one would be going for his seventh-consecutive victory.

The finale began with a surprise as JD Oxidizer, known as more of a closer than an early speed contender, broke alertly as Sly Cooper was making his move on the outside.

It was neck and neck approaching the backstretch with Pat C Sly Cooper gliding by to take the lead. Being that Sly Cooper has never been caught while on the lead, logic would say congratulations and fist bumps would be in order. But that was not the case, for the moment.

“Before the race, I was worried about Britney Eureton getting loose early and having the lead,”, said co-kennel operator and trainer Tom Staats. “But when Oxidizer went out front early, I was even more worried because I knew she could close.”

On the backstretch and up to entering the homestretch, it was Pat C Sly Cooper with a two-length lead and JD Oxidizer trying her best to kick into second gear.

But it was not to be as Sly Cooper maintained a safe distance, winning the $20,000 Bob Balfe Puppy Stakes championship by one-and-a-half lengths in a formidable clocking on the 545-Yard Royal Palm Course of 29.60 seconds and returning $5.40 to his many supporters.

Pat C Sly Cooper earned a cool $10,000 for his Bob Balfe championship victory.

JD Oxidizer, Palm City Tyson and Racy Peg finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
