ROUND TWO QUALIFYING FOR PALM BEACH KENNEL CLUB’S $20,000 DICK ANDREWS FUTURITY, WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 11!
West Palm Beach, Fl. – Qualifying for Palm Beach Kennel Club’s $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity continues with second-round action Wednesday afternoon, December 11.
All the Futurity entries from round one will compete Wednesday afternoon, and again in round three Sunday afternoon, December 15.
The top 16-point earners from the third round will advance to the Futurity semifinals, Friday afternoon, December 20.
The $20,000 Dick Andrews Futurity championship final will be contested Thursday afternoon, December 26.
Featured races include:
No first-round victors in Race 10, however some pups are in good post positions to score the victory. #1 Sassy N Trashy (Lenson Sanchez* – PJ Not For Long, Janie Carroll Kennel) and #7 Run Run Happy (Kinda Cruel Red – SG’s Phil Niekro, Rader Racing) are in good spots to get loose. But keep an eye on #5 August Dawn (Kinda Cruel Red – SG’s Phil Niekro, Rader Racing) who turned in a tremendous first-round effort.
Race 12 features round-one winner #7 Atascocita Jarta (Gigawatt – Atascocita Deja, Suncoast). As in the first round, she will have to come from off the pace to score a second qualifying win, and there are some nice early speed pups that could hold her off.
Race 14 will highlight round-one winner #7 Dennis Moment (Kinda Cruel Red – SG’s Phil Niekro, Rader Racing). Dennis drew into a much tougher qualifier this go around with much stiffer competition. This one is up for grabs!
We have a double dose of round one winners in Race 15 pitting #2 RF Oka (Chasmo’s Dutch – Superior Megryan, B & B Racing) against one of the pre-championship favorites #8Buyusumnewshoes (Superior Panama – Joy Giovanni, Rader Racing). Without a doubt, daddy needs some new shoes in this one!
Post time for the first race Wednesday afternoon is 1:00 p.m. with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.
The Futurity is named in honor of former PBKC kennel operator, humanitarian and 2004 inductee to the Greyhound Hall of Fame Dick Andrews.
